The Ford F-150 is available in eight trim levels – XL, XLT, Lariat, Tremor, King Ranch, Platinum, Limited, and Raptor. Let’s break down each one to find the truck that meets your needs.
The 2023 Ford F-150 has seven powertrain options available. The base engine is standard in the XL and XLT trim and is powered by a 3.3-liter V6 engine that generates 290 horsepower and 265 lb-ft of torque.
The Lariat trim is standard with the twin-turbocharged 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 engine that produces 325 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque. This engine is also available in the XL and XLT trim.
The 5.0-liter V8 engine with 400 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque is standard in the King Ranch, Platinum, and Tremor trim, and is available in the XL, XLT, and Lariat trim.
The XL, XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, and Platinum trim can be optioned with a twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 engine with 400 horsepower and 500 lb-ft of torque.
Standard for the Limited trim is the twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 engine and an electric motor that create a combined 430 horsepower and 570 lb-ft of torque. This engine is also available in the XL, XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, and Platinum trim.
The Raptor is standard with a twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter high-output EcoBoost V6 engine that can produce 450 horsepower and 510 lb-ft of torque. The Raptor R comes standard with a supercharged 5.2-liter high-output V8 engine that generates 700 horsepower and 640 lb-ft of torque.
Rear-wheel drive and a 10-speed automatic transmission is standard on the Ford F-150, and four-wheel drive is available. It can tow up to 14,000 pounds when properly equipped and has a payload capacity of 3,325 pounds.
The F-150 XL is packed with plenty of features for the interior, technology, and safety and driver assistance. The technology has standard features like multiple USB ports, Wi-Fi hotspot, Apple CarPlay®, Android Auto™, and an 8-inch touch screen. The standard interior features include cloth upholstery seats. Forward collision warning, pedestrian detection, automatic high-beam headlights, forward automatic emergency braking, rear parking sensors, and a rearview camera are standard for safety and driver assistance features.
The F-150 XLT carries over many of the same features as the previous model, but voice recognition was added to the technology features. The exterior gained alloy wheels, and the safety and driver assistance features welcomed reverse emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, driver-attention monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-keep assist and lane-departure warning.
The F-150 Lariat pulls many of its features from the lower trim models; however, the technology features adds a 12-inch digital gauge cluster, push-button start, and a 12-inch touchscreen. The interior features get upgrades like dual-zone automatic climate control, leather upholstery and heated, power-adjustable, and ventilated front seats.
The F-150 Tremor has unique features to its exterior that include multiple skid plates, locking differential, upgraded suspension, 33-inch all-terrain tires, and hill descent control.
Many of the features of the F-150 King Ranch carry over from the other models, but it does gain wireless device charging, navigation, HD Radio, in-bed power outlet, and an eight-speaker Bang & Olufsen stereo to its technology features. The interior gained a heated steering wheel and heated rear seats. The safety and driver assistance features welcomed intersection assist, adaptive cruise control, and traffic-sign recognition.
The F-150 Platinum pulls its features from the previous models, but it does add power-deployable running boards to the exterior features, and massaging front seats to the interior features.
The F-150 limited gains features like a deployable tailgate step to its exterior features. The interior welcomes features like a moonroof and an 18-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system. The safety and driver assistance features add trailer reverse guidance, surround-view parking camera system, trailer backup assist, and park assist.
The off-road Raptor has features that will help its performance aspects. The exterior sees the addition of heavy-duty skid-plates, trail turn assist, Fox racing shocks, trail one-pedal driving, and low-speed off-road cruise control.
The F-150 Raptor R carries over the same features as the Raptor, but adds unique styling and graphics, 37-inch tires, higher ground clearance, beadlock wheels, and retuned shocks.
